Airport options and distance from Camp Friendship:

• Charlottesville (CHO): 45 min

• Richmond (RIC): 1.25 hrs (NOTE: this will likely have more flight options than CHO)

• Washington Reagan (DCA): 2.25 hrs

• Washington Dulles (IAD): 2.25 hrs

Amtrak options and distance from Camp Friendship:

• Charlottesville: 30 min

• Richmond: 1 hr

Camp Friendship is a 3 hour drive from Washington, DC and a 3-5 hour drive from North Carolina, depending on specific location.

Parking is available for those staying on site in the cabins, as well as for those joining for camp activities or the ceremony + reception.

On-site cabin lodging: On-site lodging is available to all at $40 pp/night, which includes bed linens. These are summer camp style cabins with single beds/bunk beds. Some cabins have restrooms en suite and some have restrooms in a separate building nearby. Cabins have 7-10 beds each so you will be sharing space with others BUT we will only place guests in groups they know (no bunking with strangers!).

If interested, this option will be available to ‘book’ via your RSVP response and payment will be organized through Fred and Sarah prior to the wedding weekend.

You may also stay at no cost with your own tent or trailer/RV. This option will also be available to ‘book’ via your RSVP response.

We encourage all drivers to bring their own blankets and/or sleeping bags, pillows, and towels. For those flying, we are happy to rent these items for you, which will be an option in your RSVP response.

We understand this setup is unique and not for everybody, which is why we have additional options listed below.

Hotel option with transportation: We have secured a room block at the Hampton Zion Crossroads Gordonsville (15 minute drive from Camp Friendship) for Thursday, September 25 - Sunday, September 28 (although you can book any combination of dates within the timeframe). We will provide bussed transportation to and from the venue for the Saturday Ceremony/Reception for those staying at the Hampton Inn. Follow the link or use the code CHH104 at checkout. As of mid-May, it is actually cheaper to book outside of the block if using Hilton Honors or selecting the non-refundable rate. Feel free to book outside of the block if there is availability!

Airbnb near Camp Friendship: There is a 3 bedroom Airbnb ~0.6 miles from the entrance of Camp Friendship that is available to a small group that might want to be close to the action but not stay in a cabin. We have booked this so it will not show as available on the site. Please contact Sarah or Fred if you are interested in this option. If no one reaches out by August 25, we will cancel.

Price for 3 nights: $1,018

Other options without transportation: Everyone is welcome to stay off-site in other hotels or home rentals in the area. Note that transportation will only be provided for those at the Hampton Zion Crossroads Gordonsville. However, there is parking available at Camp Friendship. Ubers/Lyfts might be difficult when leaving the Reception so please only choose this option if you plan to drive or arrange alternative transportation.

The Best Western Plus Crossroads Inn & Suites is very close to the Hampton Inn and generally cheaper. We do not have a block at this hotel, but if enough people stay, we will look at adding a shuttle stop here for the Ceremony/Reception.

Please note that the UVA-Florida State football game is in Charlottesville on Friday, September 26. This is likely to impact availability of lodging in Charlottesville.
